I am looking to make wood bats out of maple and ash, I dont have a lot of money to spend (around 2500) to buy a lathe to make baseball bats. I dont have much experience with them do you have any recommendations?

Sorry to say this, but if you do not have a lot of experience with a lathe, you should probably get the experience first, this isn’t a cheap woodworking tool, and can be quite tricky.Although I applaud your enthusiasm, this is a skill very few master, and you should find someone to teach you the finer points before indulging.
Again,I am in no way wanting to discourage you but this can be a major undertaking.
Good luck, and God Bless your creative mind.

delta , jet , grizzly , lots of good brands out there…anything that will turn a 36 in. piece or longer…good turning chisels are the key though…
